Filtering traffic without filtering customers

Blocking hostile automation is easy. Blocking it without catching real buyers is the part that takes work. A rule built on one signal, such as country or user agent, reliably blocks genuine customers travelling or using a VPN. The same condition combined with scoring and rate limiting does not.

The measure of success is not the number of requests blocked. It is whether the abuse stopped and whether conversion held steady on the protected paths afterwards. Bot protection and click fraud protection are scoped around exactly that trade-off.
